Straight forward, this is what I'm doing currently. But its slow, wondering if there is a shortcut to knowing the right questions to ask at a job interview. In your post your hinting at some things I think are signs of businesses that have certain issues.
Much appriciated!! .. Personally, I'd love to know your thoughts on essential questions / the thought procces behind comming up with the right questions (on an individual basis) to ask an employer in a job interview. To help us know what we getting ourselves into. And making sure the match is right before starting the job.

Ah, I see. Yeah, just talking to people who have recently been through the process is good.
"What did you do yesterday?" is a good one. Be specific instead of asking for a "typical day".
"When was the last time you were woken up at 3am on call?"
"What is one thing you would change about the company?"
Also, it helps to ask questions in unique ways so they can't anticipate them and also to get honest answers because they seem like honest questions.

My process is:
1. Get a job.
2. Realize the job is not for me.
3. Think about what it is that makes it not for me. (a red flag)
4. At the next job interview, ask a question that would signal the red flag without having to work there.
