First, I apologize for two emails in the same day. That’s not great.
Office hours this Wednesday
In my normal newsletter, I forgot to say that because of the July 4th holiday, I’m moving my office hours to Wednesday (that’s tomorrow). I don’t want to miss it this week because I skipped two weeks due to my travels.
Here’s the live stream link. And here’s the Zoom link if you have a question.
Grokking Simplicity for 50% off
And then I learned this morning that Manning (the book publisher) is having a big sale starting tomorrow. The sale is 50% off of everything, including my book, Grokking Simplicity. This sale needs a coupon code, which is 4JUL24au
. The sale starts Wednesday morning and ends Friday. 50% off is a significant discount. It’s so substantial that even with paying for shipping, it’s probably cheaper than on Amazon. If you’ve been eying my book, now’s a good time to get it. I also like that it ships old-school, so it surprises you when it arrives. Again, buy Grokking Simplicity and any other books for 50% off.
Grokking Simplicity is the functional programming book I wanted to recommend to people asking me “what is functional programming and why should I use it?” I couldn’t find a book that wasn’t overly technical and underly practical. So I wrote it. People like it! Please do your FP-curious friends a favor and give them this book so they can learn FP. Also, if you’ve read the book, please give it an honest rating and review on Amazon. It really helps surface the book for others.
Thanks again for your patience with this second email. I thought the information was too important to miss.
Rock on!
Eric
